I have over forty years of experience as a health consultant, educator, and international health planner. My Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH), coupled with my local and international work, provides me with a unique skillset and profound knowledge of population health and healthcare systems.
For the past four years, I have had the pleasure of working with prospective medical school applicants who were initially unsuccessful in their application and/or interview process. I help edit application essays to bring out the best examples from each student’s experience, in addition to designing specific MMI stations. One particular strength is my ability to help applicants highlight their salient characteristics and unique experiences, allowing them to stand out on paper and in interview settings.
We are privileged to have Senior Editor James Boxshall, who holds a double Master’s degree in English Literature from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, as part of Clinical Edge, helping ensure essay submissions are flawless.
The provision of honest, personalized, and detailed feedback, along with additional review documents, has been instrumental in improving my applicants’ success rates.
Four years ago, I started working with prospective medical students as a hobby after realizing that highly qualified candidates those with outstanding academic records, strong MCAT scores, and valuable volunteer experience were often unable to secure even a single interview. This led me to question what was going wrong. Why were such promising candidates being overlooked? What were the barriers to interviews and medical school acceptance?
These questions became central to my work with well deserving applicants. I continue to be inspired by their resilience and take great pride in their success when they are admitted to the medical school of their choice.
I believe in authentic storytelling, helping students highlight their genuine experiences without compromising the honesty that the medical profession demands.
Every applicant’s journey is different. I spend time getting to know each candidate, tailoring my coaching to the individual, building confidence and professional maturity alongside a strong application.
I provide expert insights rooted in current admissions trends linked closely to specific medical school mandates, ensuring students meet the highest standards of academic and interpersonal readiness.
My 30 years of global health experience plays an important role in recognizing that healthcare is best served by a workforce that reflects the global community. I am dedicated to supporting underrepresented voices in medicine.
My coaching extends beyond the “acceptance letter.” I aim to develop the self-reflection and communication skills that will serve my students throughout their careers as clinicians.
Although there is no 100% acceptance guarantee, once accepted into the Clinical Edge program, I will work tirelessly to bring out the best in each candidate. I don’t just edit essays; I mentor future doctors. From the first “getting to know you” screening interview to the final mock interviews, I stand as a partner in your pursuit of a life in medicine.
To foster dedicated prospective medical students with the knowledge and confidence needed to improve their chances of university acceptance, and to empower the next generation of compassionate and skilled physicians by providing personalized, strategic, and ethical guidance through the challenging medical school admissions process. I bridge the gap between each student’s potential and opportunity, ensuring that aspiring students have the necessary tools to share their unique story and secure a place in the future of healthcare.
